When I found this stiriped piece in the exact colors and size I needed, it was easy to appliqué several of them on and hand quilt it, with lines indicating the shadows of the blocks. It became
MY BABY'S GONE AND LEFT ME.
Now, over 30 years later it hangs on my bathroom wall, where I can enjoy it daily. I just finished a rainbow quilt for her daughter, now entering the big world of high school. The title remains appropriate.

I like what you did with those blocks, and the name seems very appropriate. My "baby" just left me last September, and he too took a quilt with him. It wasn't named nearly so appropriately, however :) Thanks for linking up at Throwback Thursday.
ReplyDeletescattering those tumbling blocks looks so good on the stripy fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute wall hanging and story. The colors are perfect. As is the English piecing. My babies are grown, too.
